mm...fabric cake

Yesterday was my birthday.

l just wanted to share with you a fabric gift l received today from my friend Ronda.

A cake made of fabric, what a delight for any sewing enthusiast.

No calories, no worrying about increased sugar levels...just pure delight!

Ottobre Spring/Summer 2/2014

I guess you can always notice when I've gone back to work, my posts are less frequent.  Well, one has to work to fund my sewing habit!

A colleague at work gave me a piece of poly cotton fabric that she purchased from India. At first I thought it may become a skirt; but, I just wasn't feeling it.

I'd been wanting to make Style 15 from Ottobre Spring/Summer 2/2014 (in the magazine it is made out of linen):

Here it is made out of the gifted fabric:

Like everything I like about Ottobre, it comes together easily and fits well. Only thing is, I think I need to make a pair of pants to go under it!
